I just love the otherworldly sound of the Vasudans when they speak. This is a clip with them using a translator in a lab. I can't find one with a Vasudan with one on their neck, so I may have been mistaken on that point. But here's the clip: youtube.com/watch?v=nOjAwGjNq4A

That's great! The only thing I would have changed was the cadence of the translation. It should have a sort of "at the sound of the tone, the time will be..." feel (as it would have to be canned for electronic translating devices). Otherwise, right on target.

Given the advancements in synthesized speech, it actually doesn't sound too far from how Flight Simulator's Air Traffic Control simulation sounds.

Ok...everyone knows all civilized races in other times or on other world speak English. If they are imperial/aristocratic sorts they speak with a refined British accent and if they are potential bad guys or exotics they speak with some continental accent like German or French. So far no one has found the really advanced super refined world/fanstasy culture where the Highest of the high elves speak with a distinctly gracious and minty southern drawl.
