Hey jfranklin, I currently live an hour south of Florence (I'm assuming you mean Florence, OR). So if you need more info, just let me know

LO! My bad. I actually meant Florence, Italy. Oregon is on my "Gotta check out" list of places to go. I have a sneaking suspicion that I might not leave when I get there!

HAHAHA, no prb. But yes, you need to check out Oregon. Its beautiful, all of it (although I'm partial to the coast... the rugged beach with white squeaky sand, the tall conifer trees, the ferns growing everywhere, and how green everything is

I wouldn't say I was an expert in anything except parenting and being a pastor's wife, but I do have a lot of interest in ancient history (especially Egyptian and Mesopotamia and anything pre-2000 B.C.), Japan, anime, archaeology, astronomy and all things space related, classical music; have traveled extensively in Central and South America; lived in Ecuador and Costa Rica; know a LOT about life in a small rural community and small town papers, cats and teenage boys; and have a smattering of insight on cotton farming and wind turbines.

If anyone needs to know about New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, or the French, German or Maori languages, I'm your source. Then there's practical writerly stuff like blogs, book marketing, twitter, making trailers, etc. Umm...yeah, that's about it.

So Grace, if we want to plan a trip to New Zealand and have to choose between the two parts, you can give us a good idea of places to visit? I fell in love with New Zealand reading Essie Summers' novels and have always wanted to visit there.

Actually I have similar problems with some of my settings, which are in the past long enough to have many of the places blotted out by civilization's sprawl. I guess the question is could I be true to the big details and fudge on the small ones?

Wow, I don't recognize any of you, but I love you all already. The wealth of knowledge that I'm seeing, incredible!
