I could use some prayer right now. This week is not turning out too great, and it could potentially get worse. I chose this week to be utterly broke, and it's the week I need the extra money the most.
I knew my truck was getting low on oil, but I thought I'd be fine till I could get some and/or get my oil changed. No such luck. Tonight on the way home from work it broke down. A kind soul drove me all the way to Sheetz so I could get some oil, drove me back, waited with me to see if my truck would start, then drove me home when it wouldn't.
I don't know what happened. I don't know if any damage was done when it cut out. I thought putting some oil in would be fine, but it seems to be worse, and I can't afford to have it fixed if something did seriously go wrong, and I can't afford to have it towed for being on the side of the road. Please please pray for me.
This was supposed to be an exciting week cause I'm starting my Pampered Chef business. But it seems to be going downhill fast and I can't seem to stop it.

So sorry to hear about your troubles, paischaros. I can totally sympathize with the way cars seem to pick the absolute worst time to have a major repair crop up! May the Lord bless you with an unexpected solution to the issue with your vehicle...praying for you.

Thanks. It doesn't look like the engine has been damaged ... we don't think. My brother came out and put more oil in, but it still wouldn't start. Then he tried to jumpstart the battery, still no go. The engine turns over, just doesn't start. He think it might be fuel related. He called his mechanic to come tow it and they'll look at it. For now I'll be driving my brother's old Toyota pickup. Thanks for your prayers, keep 'em coming!

We had a "turns over but won't seal the deal" issue with our van once, and it turned out to be the fuel pump. (This may seem like a "duh" question, but you're sure there's actually gas in it? We have also had issues with inaccurate gas gauges on vehicles, where we simply ran out of gas when the gauge said otherwise. Embarrassing, but easy to fix.)

Hehe, everyone has asked me that very question. Yeah, there's gas in it. A little under half a tank, which I put in just this past weekend.

If you had just run out of gas, then that would be a very small deal. Well, as I said, here's to a swift and painless solution.

I just got off the phone with my brother. It's not good. The lower part of the engine seems to be ok, but the upper part seized up. The cost to repair could be roughly $1000. He's gonna get a more direct quote from the mechanic, and he said they're pretty good at, once they've given a direct quote, either keeping to that quote or going below it. So .... yeah. My brother said he can help pay for part of it, but I'll have to come up with money for the rest. *Sigh* And, I'll be driving the Toyota for at least another week, as they probably won't be able to start on it till the beginning of next week.
Edit: Total repairs (including labor) will be about $1600

Aaaak! I'm so sorry to hear it! (See, now this is why we should all be driving horse-drawn vehicles. ) Seriously, though, I pray that the Lord will show you his miraculous provision through this regrettable circumstance.

Thanks everyone I decided not to get it fixed and sold it today to a used auto parts place. They gave me $600 for it, which was more than I had expected, to be honest. So, now I have something to start with. My brother is letting me use his old Toyota pickup and is giving me till the end of August to get a new vehicle, so I'm scouring auto sales to try to find a decent vehicle for under $3,000. Please pray that I'm able to find one, soon

It's been a while hasn't it? Thought I'd let you know that in August I purchased a car. The owner wanted $1000 for it and I'll be finished paying it off by the end of this month It's a '95 Geo Prizm and I LOVE her
