My story ‘To Survive’ was rejected for the anthology ‘Bewere the Night’. I know I’ve had a lot of success recently, but not everything I submit gets accepted. I honestly don’t mind. Rejections are part of being a writer and means I am one. I thank the pros for teaching me that. Also, it helps keep me humble. It’s easy for anyone to get a swelled head – even me. I think of this as the Gibbs’ slap to the back of the head.

Awww, you're just telling us this so we don't feel bad as we collect our rejection slips or endure cavernous sounds of silence coming from those we submit to. (Oh, wait...that's just me...) Seriously, though, sorry to hear you get the rejection, but good for you for having a positive attitude in the face of it.

Sorry about the rejection letter, but total props for the Jethro Gibbs reference! Gibbs is one of the best characters on T.V. My family are total NCIS and Gibbs fans.
