Yeah, Leviathan is definitely more dieselpunk/biopunk. Exactly. That's why I'm having some trouble. I don't actually know many newer ones. For movies though, I can think of two right off the bat. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow an T he Rocketeer which is actually getting a reboot soon. That's why I'm excited about this genre- so many paths to blaze.

Sky Captain tried hard, but there was just too much bluescreen. So many scenes in that movie, the actors had no idea what was going on around them. Poor guys.
Rocketeer's getting a reboot? When? By who? Why did I not know about this??
When Peter Jackson finally does the Temeraire movie, Dragonpunk will officially become a Thing. :-)

I've not seen them either. Yeah, I heard it didn't do to well.
I have no idea yet. All I had was a small announcement from somewhere.
Dragonpunk? Okay. If you say so.

Question: What would the genre (sub-genre?) be for a story in which the technology is not steam or diesel, but primarily wind driven? A culture that has lived in dirigibles for 1200 years? Dirigibles with limited solar-energy collecting integument (skin). The young people fly gliders for sport.

I've heard of steaunk... have not heard of dieselpunk.
That is something I could get into...
clouds of black soot, roaring, pure power... I'll be right back...

Hmm. That sounds like it would just be science-fiction. (Or fantasy, I guess.)
Exactly. Can't beat giant diesel-powered machines.
