I had an idea which probably sounds cliche or something but if it really is original and not done please tell me as that is the only reason I'm not doing it right now. The Idea: You build two worlds, one is a Fantasy World as stereotypical as they get while the other is a Science-Fiction world as stereotypical as they get. Both stories are as stereotypical as possible, however the main characters from each world to be used for the story were switched. The Science-Fiction characters is bamboozled by this new world because he's used to things being scientifically understandable. Meanwhile his "magic" (high technology) impresses the locals however he knows it won't last forever with no power source or place to restore ammunition Meanwhile the fantasy one thinks he has been trapped in some world filled with dark magic and is bamboozling everyone if the small shares of magic that he knows.

There was an ADnD adventure set called "Tales of the Comet" in which some space junk crash lands. Fantasy characters (including PCs) investigate and are introduced to "strange magics" including a portal to a giant spaceship with alien NPCs called the Rael. There were stats for the Rael and all the tech-gear and -weapons that would allow for total crossover. Players could eventually even pick a Rael character to play.
Might not be exactly what you were thinking, but i was reminded of it. I'd read something based on your idea!
