My boss told me yesterday (yes, on Valentine's Day, ruining any plans my wife and I had), that my hours are being cut so that I can rest and destress. As he knows (and mentioned in the talk) my family's finances are way tight right now (that's part of the stress. The rest comes from my eldest's illness, which he also mentioned).
Please pray for us in this time as we try to make the budget work. Boss doesn't know this, but I am going to be using my day off to find a better situation. I've felt for a while that my time here was coming to an end.

Sorry to hear about the cut back. I know full well how the pinch of a tight budget can weigh upon a family. I pray you can find the swiftest, best solution for your situation. I don't understand the motivation of a boss saying, "Hey, I know you have medical issues in your family and that's making you stressed, so here, let me help by taking your job away, for the most part." Praying for you!

I'm sorry, Mr. Luke. My father's been in and out of work for the past couple of years (in a temporary job right now). It's been hard for my parents, but even as a college student, I really haven't much to worry about personally. I may never now the stress of struggling to provide, but may God sustain you, sir.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers. God is already moving to help us out.
Got some good news today! I logged into my student loan account to get the tax information. Without warning, they have CUT my payments by almost $80/month. That will certainly help us out!

Amen.
As of today, I have lots of free time to search for a new job. Boss told me first thing this morning that one day a week home wasn't helping their budget enough. I'm finishing up my tasks and going home.
Pray for us. I'm really feeling like I've been punched in the gut.
I already have an appointment with a staffing firm that helped me in the past. The lady who handles my account said she knows several positions she can put my name in for. She asked me to update my skills profile in their DB. I said, "Did that already." "Well, great!"

Yikes. Again. Nice guy.
Sounds like you're on top of things, but a few more prayers won't hurt.

Hang in there, Frank. I pray the staffing service will be able to find you a spot quickly, even if its a stop gap to another "just right" position.

Wow... definitely sending some more prayers your way! If it helps - I was retrenched last year (I know that gut-punching feeling, especially as the big boss had just bought a porsche and we thought the company was doing well...), but I found a wonderful job - one that I am enjoying thoroughly, with lovely people and a desk by a window... And it's for a company I've always wanted to work for... God sometimes have a weird way of putting you on a new track in life, but, luckily He'll always let you roll with the punches (or even take some for you!). And with a world-wide prayer ring on your side as well... Keep us updated! Marsh
