I've been a member of this site for quite awhile now and am loving getting to know all the great SF/Fantasy writers in here. However, I'm curious if anyone writes more of contemporary speculative fictions like supernatural/paranormal suspsense or even urban fantasy. Think Peretti or Dekker or John B Olson. This is where my writing passion lies and was curious to meet up with others.

Hmm. I know I don't go very far into this genre, but I think I may overlap a little. My first book is about two (modern) guys who find a portal to another world, which has been created by God just for them. They have a lot of fantasy-ish sword-fight style adventures, and come back more prepared for normal life, which for them is extending the Kingdom by every means possible. Spiritual warfare is a fairly big part of the book.
So not Frank Peretti, but not traditional fantasy, either.

Ooo...but that sounds so interesting! Hope we get to see it in print one of these days! I definitely think it overlaps. Where'd you get the idea for that?

Hmmmmmmm....... ...... .. .. . Not sure of any big idea-bringers, but just the idea of, "What if someone could be in a place where everything they should be able to do as a Christian works 100% of the time?" From there, I built up a world which has never fallen, and the inhabitants have none of the power Christians do. So any Christians who go there are elevated to superhero status, and they can literally move mountains! Then there's the bad guy... *ahem*! Spoiler. I won't say any more. This whole thing, along with my entire career of two years' worth of writing, started with a school curriculum. It's called Learn To Write The Novel Way, I think. For the English credit for one year of school, you write a book. So I wrote the book, which is 20,000 words long. Or short. It's almost ready for publishing, so your hope should not be unfounded....

Sounds cool, choosybeggar! I have a sort-of urban fantasy idea...where our world and another, elvish one are interconnected. Lots of comings and goings between the two world, including elves in our world, riding motorcycles in a car chase. I'm kind of all over the map with ideas, as long as they're speculative.
