As I mentioned in another thread, I started doing a certificate in Web Design and Development as my "Plan B" in case my writing doesn't work out. Since I didn't start that certificate until Spring 2010, I am still trying to finish it up. My first two semesters I only took a few classes - 2 in the first semester and 1 in the second - because I was also still in school for my B.A. This fall I took 3 classes because I didn't have my B.A. to worry about, and was fortunate enough to be able to take them all online, which worked great with my unpredictable work schedule.
Now spring enrollment is open, and - barring any problems with them counting this one Web Design class I took in 2005 for the certificate - I only have three classes left. My intent was to take them all in the upcoming spring semester. One of the classes is a required core class in Interactive Media Production, one is a required portfolio development class, and the other is my last emphasis class, for which I have a choice between Web Design 3: Site Design and Architecture and Flash 2, with Web Design 3 being my preferred choice due to its subject matter being an important web design skill.
However, the three classes I need are all on-campus (with no alternative online sections), at non-ideal times, and nearly full (since enrollment started in mid-November). I'd like to take them all and get my certificate done ASAP so I can move on to a more career-oriented job than the job I currently have. But my mom is worried that I might have trouble getting my work to work around them - even though my work has been good at working around my and others' school schedules in the past - especially since, in her view, they probably think they don't have to work around school for me anymore since I graduated. She's also concerned that with the three classes I'm taking now I haven't gotten a lot of sleep, and granted this is true, especially now that it's finals time and I'm stressing out. And I frankly haven't liked the stress all that much myself.
Anyway I don't know what to do. I have to sign up for the classes fast, and since my parents will have to pick me up from one of them they're sort of invested in this too. I could space it out more, but after being more or less in school non-stop since graduating high school 8 years ago, I'm ready to just be done for a while. And I know if I just up and quit now, I'll hate myself.
Please pray! I'm going to try to pray myself, even though I'm woefully out of practice (which sounds blasphemous but it's true), but I could use some support.
