In another forum I visit, there is a long-running thread with the same title. In it, each poster lists titles (or more) of mixed-genre premises that they find shudder inducing or at least pause worthy. It's a for-laughs thread, not really meant to be serious. Here are some of my entries as examples.
Stephen King writes A River Runs Through IT.
HP Lovecraft writes an episode of Seinfeld called "The Festivus."
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" guest starring Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor.
Out of the Silent Planet of the Apes.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe Stylist
The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Caspian
Sinbad and the Seventh Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Dentist's Chair
About a Horse and His Boy
The Mysterious Magician's Nephew
The Last Battle for New York
[Title Undetermined]
Mustrum Ridcully gazes into the omniscope and realizes the giant red eye is a demon from the dungeon dimensions intent on breaking through to another world (not the Discworld). Ponder Stibbons' investigations reveal this other world has wizards. Ridcully and co. grab staffs and go lend a hand (After all, what good are the powers of the cosmic universe if you can't occasionally make things go splat). Gandolf the White is of two minds about the new help.
Mega-Lo Mind
After being thrown through a dimensional rift, a pre-reform Megamind decides to take over his new earth home through unbounded capitalism and opening a chain of discount stores.
What can you guys add? And this thread is meant to be name a few, think of more later, and come back.
