I finally decided to start my own blog as a platform to publish my reviews, on the rare occasions that I actually get around to reviewing the things I want to review. ( This is the link; click here.) My first post is a review of The Windrider Saga by Anomalien Rebecca P. Minor. I'm not sure if this announcement should go here or in the sub-division of this board. If it should go in the sub-board, can somebody put it there for me?

This is completely fine a spot for your blog announcement--I see the sub-board as more of a place for publication announcements and the like. A sort of open arena for shameless self-promotion. And I am deeply honored that you would kick off your review site with my work. Your review is awesome. I hope you get a lot of interest and traffic--I will link to you in my social media spots.

If you started reading the review and began to feel a strange sense of deja-vu, it might have been due to the fact that the whole review was somehow pasted into itself! Beckyminor told me, and the problem is now fixed.

wow, that was a good review. I left a comment but i don't think blogger likes wordpress identities I've been having trouble commenting using my wordpress identity. Oh well. I look forward to future reviews! How often do you think you will post a review?

by the way, when I read "projects" I thought my study group was kind of a project, but now I see I should've put the invite here. Does anyone know how to change the location of a thread?

I look forward to future reviews! How often do you think you will post a review? I just saw your comment, and replied. Thanks for stopping by! I don't think I'll post reviews very often. I have some previously-written material I can put up soon (mostly reviews of interactive fiction games, plus two old book reviews I put on Amazon). Wait -- I can put up the capsule reviews of the T2C stories I posted here! That will keep them from getting lost. That's a really cool website you have! It looks totally professional; you can't go unpublished long with a website like that! Your blog looks professional too. Some of those WordPress themes look great, but I mainly chose Blogger because Blogger lets you get your hands dirty with the CSS and HTML. I think you have to be an Administrator, but I could be wrong.

There ya go...I moved the thread to out of projects and into the main "Bios, blogs..." board. Please do let me know if I haven't placed it properly!

Oh wow, oh wow! Thank you Becky for moving it! That is great! I am humbled, bainespal. Thank you. I'm glad you like the website. I can only take partial credit for it. My husband is web programmer/developer. He designed my previous website but I wanted to be able to update it myself. I don't do all that code stuff, so I picked out the design and graphics and told my husband how I'd like it and he put it together. Eventually I want to use more of my artwork up there. I really like wordpress so far. The blog is only a template, but I'm glad you like it. :-) I'm discovering with blogger if I use my name/url to leave comments rather than my wordpress identity it works fine. Now I gotta go check out your reply

Hey, Bainespal. Very nice blog! And I have to say I've always looked forward to all of your reviews of the Cross and Cosmos's stories (not just my own stories, either). You do a fine job as a reviewer! One little glitch, though. I've tried a couple of times to leave a comment on your Byzantine Apple review, but it doesn't seem to want to take it yet. Am I missing something? (Techno-challenged as I am that wouldn't surprise me!) Anyway, great job, dude!

Oh, I only just noticed your reply, Metal. Sorry, I've been pretty busy lately.
Thanks for trying to comment. I don't know what went wrong. I had the permissions set to allow anyone to comment, even anonymously, with no need for the comments to be approved by me before they appear. The only thing I can think of is that "word verification" was turned on -- it's that annoying anti-spam thing where you have to type the weird distorted letters in the picture before your message or log-in will go through. I just turned that off, too. I hadn't noticed that it was left on; I find that feature very annoying.
So, I just published an interview with Melissa Turner Lee about her novel The Earth Painter on the blog.

If any readers of Terry Brooks's Shannara books care to compare notes with me, I've put up a review of The Elfstones of Shannara. I've only read the original Shannara trilogy so far, and I still have conflicting opinions about Brook's writing in general.

I put up a review of Jacob Lindaman's story from Issue 13 of The Cross and the Cosmos, "Hit Points: Gettysburg Generals."

Paul,
I am currently working on my author's website and would like to use your reviews of my short pieces that were published in TC2. Do I need permission to use a small quote of each? I would like to link to each review in full. Would you be moving those to your blog soon?
Frank
