Bethany: When I found myself in your situation, I just tried to write concurrently. I actually outlasted a lot of people who were actually doing Nano. Less pressure when you're just writing for yourself and not worrying about word count.

Am hoping to do some writing today. Editing the antho has also been taking time. Have updated several threads. Oh, and let's not forget I have a short story deadline this week as well.

Camp Nanowrimo looks like fun! I've always wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo, but I'm always in the middle of writing something already, and with a 14-month-old I highly doubt I'd make it through the month! It's fun reading all your story openings, though. Bethany; You'd be surprised. I did N2WM last year (or was it two years ago ). I started almost a week late because I: 1) wasn't planning to do it, I was too busy, 2) didn't really have an idea for a novel and 3)figured I couldn't overcome my late start. Well, I finished up a winner on Nov. 30 with 63k+ words and that novel is the one I think will be my first novel to get published. (I've got a few short stories in line for publication) So hang in there my sister and just punch away at it. You may be surprised at the success the Lord will give you. You already have a leg up on me with these practice camps; I didn't even know what N2WM was until Nov. 2nd. Write on Sis SGD dave

Just out of curiosity, how did all of your nanowrimo projects go at the end?

Storm: I finished mine and went a little bit over, even. :-) Of course, this last Nano, I sort of cheated, since I was working on two projects at the same time, and included the total wordcounts from both stories. But together they totaled 50k. My previous Nano ended at just over 50k, even though it needs more fleshing out. But for a first draft, I was satisfied. I used the techniques for writing 10k words a day: thisblogisaploy.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-i-went-from-writing-2000-words-day.htmlIt made getting my Nano quota every night SO much easier!
