Is there a way to subscribe to emails from threads, so when someone replies I get alerted? Is that what the "bookmark" feature does? (Usually bookmark just means that it gets saved to your favorites...so I am confused.) Sincerely, Usually-More-Internet-Savvy-Than-This-Bethany

Hm, now that you mention it, I don't see an option for an email subscription. I just bookedmarked the forum and mash the "New Topics" button up there at the top, with the star beside it. That way I get to see all the new stuff. This is a pretty quiet forum, so there's not usually too many new topics to chew through.

Aha, I didn't see the "New Topics" button! That'll be helpful. Thanks!

Here's the explanation from the ProBoards Help Page: Add a Bookmark To bookmark a thread, first navigate to a thread on the message board that you find interesting and would like to bookmark. At the top left corner of the thread, just above where it says "Author", you'll see the "bookmark" button. The button can also be found directly below the last post in the lower left corner.
When the bookmark button is clicked, the icon will change to "remove bookmark" indicating the thread has been added to your message board bookmarks collection. Click the button again if you want to remove it from your bookmarks list. Once you've bookmarked a thread, you can view it by visiting your forum profile page and clicking the "Bookmarks" link.
Manage Bookmarks To manage bookmarks, click the "Manage Bookmarks" link in the top-right corner of the bookmarks listing page. Here you can remove bookmarks or setup PM or email notifications for each new post made to threads you've bookmarked.
Notifications Whenever a bookmarked thread has a new post added to it, you have the option to receive a notification by email or Private Message (PM). To create notifications, check the box next to threads you'd like notifications for, then select the type of notification from the drop-down menu to the right of the thread list.
Click the "Update Bookmarks and Preferences" button when you've finished making your selections.
Also, just below the listed bookmarks, you have the ability to set a default notification type for each forum thread you bookmark in the future. For example, if you want to receive an email for every thread you bookmark, set this to "Email". From that moment, any additional threads you bookmark will generate an email notification when someone replies in new bookmarked threads.
Even if you don't currently have any threads bookmarked, you can still manage the default notification options for future bookmarks by clicking the link "Click here to manage your bookmark preferences" found on the forum Bookmarks page. I hope that helps!

Hey Becky; There are instructions??? Wow! I just kept clicking stuff to see what it would do (OKay, Okay; enough with the dumb guy jokes; I was an engineer too so I guess I'm doubly cursed with instruction phobia ). In all seriousness (I really can be; honestly, I can ) I find the notification features in the bookmark section to be a big help keeping up with things on the Anomaly. Ah, where did you say those instructions were again... Write on beloved siblings SGD dave

I just clicked the little blue question mark at the top of the boards--the little "help" link, and searched the Proboards help area. I think everybody has access to that, not just admins.
