Let me know when you get the draft ready for critique. Schedule permitting I'd like to start trading novel critiques with some of my more skilled friends.
Glad to hear that you're going to finish Bird's Eye, of all the drafts I've read that one was perhaps the most intriguing.

Thanks. I'm not sure my idea worked out like I wanted it to. There are times when the bird and the pooch just aren't where I need them to be or can't be as involved as they should be. The back half has been a whole lot harder to write, but I definitely want to finish it. I'll let you know when it's ready for crit'ing and I'll trade you one!

Perhaps you can work it into some dramatic tension by having things in your "plot" happen out of the sight of your two POVcs.
Based on the already portrayed character of your African Grey I suspect she would have a conniption fit if she thought a loose end was coming unraveled which the "dumb humans" had already taken care of out of her cognizance.
