Hey Anomalians, Sorry I have been away for the most part over the past months. I have lurked as much as I can, but alas, full time, clock-in-clock-out employment has definitely limited what I have been able to do online over the past 9 months or so. I wanted to give you a little update on my novel that was a semi-finalist in Marcher Lord Select back in the day. (How many of you were here then? I can't even remember.) Anyway, that novel, Sword of the Patron, has been renamed Curse Bearer, and will be coming out in October of this year. I'm in the process of getting the last bits and pieces together for the final formatting, and also ratcheting up for a marketing campaign. (A lot of you are my facebook friends, so you've already been deluged with the marketing thing. If you haven't heard about it, you can check that out here: ) It's been a long road for this particular book, and I'm really looking forward to finally having it out there in print for all the readers and supporters who have been following it's progress for these several years. I'll update this thread when the book is available and post links...its a race to the finish now!

The Kickstarter page looks exciting. It's cool that you can offer "feelies" like t-shirts and prints. All this web freelancing stuff seems fun. Artists and designers have a lot of indie venues these days.
Will you be selling the t-shirts/posters/prints based on your storyworld separately after Curse Bearer is published, or are they a Kickstarter exclusive?
I remember the Marcher Lord Select version of the opening portion of The Sword of the Patron. The sample chapter of Curse Bearer opens a little differently, I think. Congratulations on bringing the story to the light of day.

Wow, that long ago?
One thing I noticed is that they mention the God Creo. Is this world related to the one in the Windrider books?

Bainespal: I have been back and forth whether the merchandise will be available after Kickstarter is done. It seems like it makes sense to sell it, especially with all the work that's gone into it. But I don't think I should (at least not right away) because it would take some of the wind out of the Kickstarter's sails, you know. I so know I'll be giving some of it away in drawings and stuff around the release. And yes, the opening has changed a little. The stakes for the brothers in the scene got more dire, and I believe the sort of mysteriousness of what her father was doing is a little more up-front. It's been a transformative journey. And Kessie: Yes, this is the same world as Windrider--just 250 years later. The bonus to elves living a long time...Vinyanel is still alive during this time frame. That's all I'm saying about that for now.

Yes, yes, yes! I loved the story and hated it didn't make the final cut. Can't wait to read it! Congrats, Becky!

Thanks Teskas and tris! We shall see how it all comes together. I've been getting a peek at the formatting this week, and so far, the interior looks pretty classy.
