Hey Friends...I think I may be close to the last of the bunch who had a book in the main contest for Marcher Lord Select (main contest) to finally reach the publication stage of things. But at long last, the story once known as Sword of the Patron is available for sale. It's published title is Curse Bearer, and it's book one in The Risen Age Archive. I'm doing a giveaway on my facebook page as well as personal profile. If you're friends with me or a liker of my page, you can enter into a [glow=red,2,300] drawing for a signed copy[/glow] of the novel by sharing the link I've posted there. I would be deeply grateful if you'd share the giveaway so I can get the word out that the book is available for sale. Here's the facebook page link: on.fb.me/UCEkV5 And the direct link to Amazon: amzn.to/QTalHA

Well, my book is still waiting. And Dennis Brooke's. And a few others. I'm trying to track everyone down, so all MLSers -- either main or premise -- send me a message and tell me how you're faring.
Backy's book is great, by the way. It was one of my faves in the contest. So happy to see it released. Congratulations, Becky!

Yes, I would love to hear any updates people have--even if they have decided to move on from MLS manuscripts and have other things going. I know Jeff has batted the idea around of doing the contest again--I wonder if it would be as busy (or perhaps more) the second time?

Great news! I've been waiting for this one, although it may be some time before I'm ready to read it. Knowing of its long road to publication, having read part of an early version of it, gives me more confidence in it than I would normally have hearing about a new fantasy novel. I won't be surprised if this series goes far beyond the CSF community!
I'm very glad that I decided to participate in judging the Marcher Lord Select entries. It's hard to believe that it's been three years!

Judging MLS must have been a really tough job, Bainespal. Kudos to you for your willingness to take that on. And you're right...three years? Where did that go???

Ah, abundant time...how I wish I could say I would have that! But yes, the next Windrider book is the project I will be focusing in on, potentially using NaNo to finish it. (Yes, I know it's an existing project so it doesn't really "count," but I'm not worried about that.) My hope is to have that one wrapped by by late spring and then dive into the second book of the Risen Age Archive.

Becky, missed the drawing due to new job....BIT I have your book on my to-buy list (right behind Aaron Alston's new X-wing novel). I loved your story from the MLP Select, so I'm delighted it's out. Whoo Hoo!Way to go. Can't wait for the rest of them to be out.

Read the first chapter on your website, and though I can't say that I won't get a moment's rest till I've read the remainder of it, it aroused my interest and moved into the realm of books I'm gonna have to investigate. Too bad I missed the contest. Sounds like it was interesting (if long .

My book, Zinovy's Journey, was part of the MLP Select contest. I finally self-published it last year, with lots of help and encouragement from Jeff. Check out the result of all that blood, sweat and tears at www.zinovysjourney.com

Becky, Got my copy last week. It's on my currently reading list. (Hey, HDADD, can't help it). Can't wait for the next Wind Rider novel, I really started to care about those people; and will the big duty obsessed jerk and her inscrutableness finally get over themselves and get together, hmmmm? Hey, I like romances. Think I may finish my novel length romace after all (yes, it's a military space opera romance; and the girl can take any six normal men on a bad day and be the last human standing) ;D I think you write cool dragons too. (hint, hint) Write on sis SGD dave

OBTW; Given the lead time from the contest to your pub date I think I'll pass and pursue indie pub for my first novelization. (Unless Wolfsinger likes it. )
