Fall in and have the blood sucked straight out of you by ... the river itself.
But why?

Puts a new spin on Moses turning the Nile to blood.

The river flows underground into the mouth of a massive, ancient, and evil creature that's been living there in hiding, feeding off of the surface world, for millennia. It's slowly been breaking holes in the surface of the world, diverting more and more rivers downwards so that it can regain its strength and break free once more. It's like a great plague that's spreading through the worlds water-ways, and no one knows why. But eventually, someone is going to have to venture down into the depths to find out where the rivers flow...

Kessie, your first remark is interesting given the setting during which this idea sprouted. I was leading a middle school boys' Bible class, and we were discussing that exact passage. Another recent post was inspired at the same moment.
rjj7, that's wickedly creepy. Makes me shudder.

No creepier than the original concept. Kessie, unfortunately I'm not familiar with the gentleman, so can't comment. I know him by reputation only, and it hasn't extended to his personal habits and dietary requirements.
