If he is truly the champion of the poor and downtrodden they say he is, this could be a very good thing.
I am Pentecostal, yet on the way to work this morning, I followed a compulsion from the Spirit to pray for Pope Francis.

I'm trying to tread carefully here. Since I'm not Catholic, I've obviously decided their theology is not correct on all points, but I don't intend to harp on those issues. Everything so far seems to indicate Pope Francis is a truly humble and caring man. From that perspective I agree his selection could be good for the RCC.
I have a lot of respect for Benedict XVI. I liked his conservative stance and his patient efforts to reverse some of the more undesirable outcomes of the 2nd Vatican Council. My concern with Francis is if he adheres to the liberation theology that has been promoted in Latin America.
