If anyone has comments or a question, or finds the contest confusing, send me a PM. I'd be happy to talk to you.

For those of you who choose not to participate, I guess I have some questions as well. I'm sure I have much to learn, so I'd be curious to know the reason you choose not to do it. Of course there could be a thousand reasons, but I suppose some of them might be:
1) I will, just give me some time. You're too impatient. 2) I don't trust it 3) I don't have time for it 4) It looks like too much work / not enough reward 5) I don't know who you are 6) I don't like the idea of this contest 7) I can't think of anything to submit 8) I don't think you know anything about writing, so why bother

I just saw it and haven't had a chance to check it out. Does that work, too? Is this a new writing forum? I hadn't heard of it before.

I like the concept all the way around, but I work two jobs and have three small kiddos at home. I may participate in the future when things settle down.

I like the concept all the way around, but I work two jobs and have three small kiddos at home. I may participate in the future when things settle down. So, it sounds like you fall under answer #3. I know what that's like, and I appreciate your reply. It's encouraging that somebody likes the idea. Thanks. I just saw it and haven't had a chance to check it out. Does that work, too? Sure, that works ... answer #1. ;D Is this a new writing forum? I hadn't heard of it before. Basically, yes. But why does the world need another writing forum? There are already 1,972,365,214 other writing sites (more or less). So, this project represents a transformation in my attitudes about literature and I'm curious to see where it will go. I'm not approaching this thinking that the writing world needs me. I'm approaching it from the perspective that I want to be involved ... and even moreso that I don't care anymore whether it's my writing or someone else's that gets the attention. I just want to help. With that said, I'm looking to help in a very specific way.

I'm a victim of #3...I'm already robbing Peter to pay Paul in terms of time on projects right now, so to add a contest would be suicidal. Good luck with it though.

I'm a victim of #3...I'm already robbing Peter to pay Paul in terms of time on projects right now, so to add a contest would be suicidal. Good luck with it though. I've been reading the letters of J.R.R. Tolkien. If it's any consolation, after publication of The Hobbit, as he was being begged for a sequel, he got sick, his wife got sick, his research fellowship ended, and he continually wrote of how overwhelmed he felt, and how guilty he felt to steal time for writing from his other responsibilities. I don't know. For some reason that makes me feel better.

I like the gamification process you've got going on. That really does promote involvement and keeping at it (see Stack Exchange).
But #3 for me.
