Sandy is out of surgery, and we are waiting to go see her. The doctor took 2 nodes. We will get the lab results at our post-op appointment next week. At that time, there is a third node the doctor wants to biopsy. The ultrasound tech labeled it as "indeterminiate" today. The surgeon and a doctor of 25 years experience both agreed to leave it for biopsy. They did not biopsy it today because they put blue dye in it in case the doctor decided to take it out. Thank you for your prayers.

We finally got all the lab work back about 2 weeks ago. (I have been swamped at work and forgot to update here.) It was all clear! The third node was merely inflamed, and what they removed was not cancerous. Yet with Sandy's condition, it needed to come out. It was a piece of the thyroid that had been left behind years ago.
