Just a small prayer request, but it's a challenging problem for me.
Over the last several months, a growth in my wrist below the base of the thumb, has developed that's pressing on a nerve and restricting my ability to do artwork. After a few minutes of sketching, holding a paintbrush, or doing any detail work with pastel or ink (or whatever media), my thumb and first two fingers start tingling and go numb. Any project I work on is taking much, much longer than it should. I doubt that the growth is anything serious; most likely it's just an arthritis knot, scar tissue from old injuries, or maybe a ganglion cyst (tried the traditional treatment for this one -- whacking it hard with a heavy book --didn't help).
But until I can afford to have a doctor look at it (no insurance), it's an annoying thing that's compromising my art endeavors.
So I'm asking for a little prayer, please, for an artist's gimpy hand and the patience to deal with its challenges.

Prayers away, Glynda. I totally relate to the no-insurance thing. I pray it's nothing serious and will heal soon.

I pray a solution will come together quickly for you on this, but while you're waiting, you have my sympathy. How very frustrating!

I can definitely relate, MK. I've got this growth between my ears that keeps me from doing artwork. Prayers away!

I am a "believe it, receive it", "blab it, grab it" kind of guy so I am going to say, I Jesus name you ARE healed. I am praying for your healing right now.

I am sympathetic and praying Metalikhan and saddened that you're out of the loop re. insurance. Will also pray you get better medical cover too, whilst trusting God does heal supernaturally .
Two years ago I had two frozen shoulders for almost a year (bad mouse ergonomics) and it really knocked the stuffing out of me re. writing, so I also understand the frustration of being kept from using God-given creativity.

I can definitely relate, MK. I've got this growth between my ears that keeps me from doing artwork. Prayers away! **snort** Literally. Read this, CS, and had an instant sinus flush of hot tea. ;D Thank you all for the prayers. I tried something different today -- bought a syringe & got help (someone not squeamish) to draw off a little over 3cc's of synovial fluids (verifying a ganglion cyst). It relieved a lot of the pressure making the thumb & fingers go numb. Don't know at this point whether it's a permanent fix, but I believe God orchestrated this very timely relief, even if it's only for this season when I need it most. Your prayers and His providential care at work. Many thanks again, my friends.

How's the hand, MK? And, apparently, the sinuses?

Doing much better. Some stiffness in the fingers -- normal arthritis stuff, not the tingling and numbness. And the sinuses -- there's something to be said for the occasional flush (stinging, painful, messy... ). But breathing easy. ;D

Update on the hand: I've had to draw off fluids from it several times since the first one. It's a temporary fix that has to re-re-repeated until I can get the whole thing surgically removed. But to add injury to insult, I got bit near the elbow of the same arm last week. It's still sore (although at this point, the tetanus shot is competing for the sore award!) but healing. So, I'd like to request a quick prayer for continued, uneventful healing and protection from such freaky incidents.
(Put a hole in my favorite tee-shirt, too. Flesh heals -- fabric has to be sewn!)
