I started reading for pleasure when I was about 11 (think the Middle Ages) and picked up a copy of Robert Heinlein's "Rocket Ship Galileo." I was immediately hooked on what was then called Science Fiction (and that's what I still call it, too).
In the intervening nearly 50 years, I have read 1,000s of books, chosen to follow Jesus, raised a daughter into a college English major (boy, do I have to watch my grammar...even in texts and Twitter), been successfully married (so far) for nearly 28 years and had a book dropped into my brain when I was traveling on business a couple of weeks ago. The book is a science fiction novel that seems to already be a series, and it has a serious Christian approach.
Now what do I do?
I have pages and pages of notes, more ideas that deserve more time than I have been able to give them and no clear idea how to turn all of it into a coherent story.
A friend is a Christian Historic Fiction author and pointed me in the direction of many books on how to write Christian fiction...which is exactly what someone like me needs. I'm working through those, but in the meantime, I thought I would search the Internet to see if anyone else had thought of taking the Christian perspective into space and Scifi.
Look what I found! ;D
Were this a physical space, I would have kissed the ground when I alit.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and especially picking your brains about the many things I do not know. For example, I think I have a great idea for how to solve the space travel time constraint, but I have no idea if it makes sense or even if it has to. There will be time for all of that.
