Hmmm....
I have recently detected a temporal-spatial anomaly. At least, that is what I think it is. There is this guy in China. He's so slim that I bet if he were to turn sidewards, he would disappear. He drinks Mountain Dew.
Mountain Dew.
Mountain Dew, fer cryin' out loud!!!
Have you any IDEA how many calories there are in a single can of Mountain Dew??!! Oh, why, oh, why, can't I have a metabolism like that?

Haven't you seen his video? He has so many tics and wiggles I think he needs to ingestion of pure sugar just to provide enough energy to live!

*sigh* Some of us have to work harder than others to maintain our girlish figures, so to speak. Don't get me started on that subject

Yeah, that one was funny, too. xkcd.com can be really good, although newbies need to be aware of potential word bombs. Shame about the OMG phrase.

I came across something interesting if a person were building a web page. It is a free domain registration. www.co.cc/faq/faq.php#p3You only have to start paying if you go commercial. But for the amateur auteur, it might be a good place to start.

Dear Diary....
Even with the sunshine on the snow outside, it is not exactly a brilliant day. In the last 20 hours, my family has lost two friends and the weekly fellowship of a church congregation.
Our friends were elderly. One was a distinguished philologist, a student then colleague of JRR Tolkien. He was a marvelous teacher of the old languages--Norse, English, and however many others which come out of the northern kingdoms of medieval Europe. The other was a gentle lady, the wife of a country lawyer. Both bore witness to the Christian virtues. The world will be a poorer place for their passing. May they rest in peace.
The mission church which my family have supported has decided to move to another jurisdiction. It's a paper transfer rather than a physical one. As they move on, we are staying behind. My wonderful husband is in holy orders and is staying with his diocese. There are no hard feelings, but still, I shall miss worshiping on Sunday with the friends we made. God bless them on their journey.

Bittersweet is a good word, Journeyman. You're right about what is to come.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

An odd things happened to me a couple of days ago.
I had to get to Atlanta by a definite time. The flight was booked, but then, my travel plans started to fall apart. I had a phone call from Delta around 11 p.m. my flight was canceled, and after chasing every possibility online--not to mention on hold--it was obvious nothing was flying from my region. Driving was the only option. I went to bed well after midnight, not looking forward to the morning.
As my head met the pillow, I remembered the driving adventure of one of my fellows here on The Anomaly. He had bought a 1998 Jeep. Maybe you remember how the wheel came off. In the morning, when I woke up, I thought about that Jeep again, and decided to dash over to my regular mechanic and have him service my Buick for the long trip. When he rotated the tires, he found a fault in the wheel hub. It was on the verge of failure. He repaired the fault, and I hurried away mid-morning on my trip.
It was pitch black on I-85 when I hit the dead thing in the road. I was traveling at 70 mph in the fast lane, and went straight over it. The car balked but held straight. I'm not sure what it was. The headlights flashed over it so fast I could only make out its bulk. It was either a large deer or a cow.
I honestly think that if the Jeep hadn't given the problem with its wheel, I would have never had the car checked before taking the trip. I was sorry for the aggravation the defective Jeep gave its owner, but there's a pretty good chance it saved my life.
God has a way of bringing good out of evil.
