I think you're on to something there, and I think I agree with you. In fact, I think C.S. Lewis would agree with you, seeing as he put the same idea in Perelandra. For most of the book, the woman was not allowed to be on solid land at night. But after a certain point (after Ransom defeated the Evil One), that restriction was removed.
