I found "Where the Map Ends" a few weeks ago but just found this forum--and I'm glad I did.
I was born in 1970 and raised on a steady diet of Tolkien, Lewis, and Anne McCaffrey. I paid for a degree I've never used by writing performance reports and awards packages for aircraft maintainers in the Air Force. After four years, I escaped to follow my husband around for his career. Along the way, we picked up our son from Thailand and recently added the World's Most Neurotic Dog.
I stumbled on writing accidentally. A friend decided to do NaNoWriMo last November and convinced me to join. Due to health issues she didn't get too far, but I surprised myself with an almost readable idea.
Along the way I became reacquainted with Donita Paul, whom I'd met during our previous assignment here. She let me join one of her writers' groups, and I can't express how grateful I am for her guidance and encouragement.
Now I'm just trying to figure out this writing thing. My dream, of course, is to be published. That and to someday be allowed to use commas without direct supervision.

Yay, welcome!
Donita is a special friend of mine.
Are you going to be at the Colorado Christian Writer's Conference this year? I'm scheduled to be on faculty. Plus, we're both here in the Springs.

Welcome, torainfor. Although pulished, I too hope to be able someday to be allowed to use commas without direct supervision. Dangerous things, those commas.
Again, welcome and well met

Thanks for the greetings!
Jeff, I don't plan on going to the conference this year. I've got a new house, a young kid, and little spare cash. Maybe next year.

A delayed welcome to you, torainfor. I love to meet new people, and it is always a special joy to me when someone finds this place. After all, it's not on the map...
