All the site updates--giving the store link--are saved and ready to be uploaded at midnight tonight, Mountain time. Midnight Mountain time? Darnit. I had hoped it was Zulu or at least Eastern. :::sniffles::: I guess it could be worse. You could be in Hawaii. I hope your cart system is rigged for overload.

Congratulations, Jeff!

I hope today was one of answered prayers, for MLP. From the outside looking in, it has been outstanding. I ordered my books, monitored the prize drawing as it progressed to its thrilling climax, and am thoroughly enjoying the e-books. I don't know about you, but MLP gave me the best day I've had in months.
Thanks Jeff!

That's a great encouragement, Strangewind, and all y'all (as my Deep South kinfolk say).
Launch Day went great! In no small measure because of the prayers of you guys, I have no doubt.

Are you planning to share how it went in terms of sales? Hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Were sales as high as you had hoped/wanted/needed? Have sales been steady even after Launch? (Okay, that's pretty unfair, since it's only been two days since Launch Day, but you may not answer real soon.) I guess what I am really wondering is does the future look bright for MLP? You probably can't do another big giveaway or match the hoopla of Launch, but what about the next set of books you plan to release? Do you have dates yet? Is the next lineup (titles, please?) set yet?
Yes, Launch Day was a big deal, but I want more for MLP than a successful Launch. I want a wonderful enduring business that will be around long after the parties and hoopla.

I want that too, Caprice.
Launch Day was terrific. Short of my wildest dreams, of course, but far beyond my darkest nightmares. Sales have fallen off precipitously since then, as is to be expected. I admit to struggling a bit with that.
But God is in charge of impressing on people to come and purchase these products or not. The first wave of orders went out yesterday, so soon people will begin receiving their books and, one hopes, loving them so much that they tell everyone about them and go back to MLP to completely fill out their Christmas shopping list!
The next list of MLP novels is slated to launch on April 1. Yes, April Fool's Day. :-) I've got one of the three novels for that list already acquired. It's my goal to have the second list acquired by the end of this month.
Thank you for your continued prayers for Marcher Lord Press.
Jeff

I'm so happy it went well for you. I will be one of those making purchases for Christmas. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers.

Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a year since I've posted to this thread. Marcher Lord Press is about to release its third set of novels. In 8 days, 15 hours, and 33 minutes, according to the MLP main page. Who put that countdown on there, anyway? Yikes, it always makes me nervous. The new list is terrific--all 3 are science fiction this time--but as always I'm in a mad dash to get them ready for launch day. Just before the second list, back in March of 2009, we were in China getting our little girl. This time at least I'm home and able to work on it all. Covers are done and edits are done (one final pass needed on one ms.). Copyedits are done on two. Typesets are done on two. Proofing is done on one and being done on another. Spine and back cover creation underway for two. It's all coming together. But of course I deeply value your prayers. Not only that it could all be ready but that people would show up and buy the books. It all comes down to that! Thank you for what you do to promote Marcher Lord Press. At the ACFW conference in Denver last week I had a terrific time. Got to be with MLP authors Stuart Vaughn Stockton (who is Vaporwolf on The Anomaly; author of Starfire) and Marc Schooley (author of The Dark Man). Lots of love for MLP at ACFW. We were up for two Book of the Year awards at the ACFW banquet. Didn't win, but that's okay. We made a great showing. And next year we'll have six titles nominated. I'm hoping for a MLP sweep of the finalists in both the speculative and debut novel categories! At the conference I did a paid critique for a woman who writes speculative. Paula felt called by God during the conference to take it upon herself to do some marketing for Marcher Lord Press. She and her roommate brainstormed ideas for hours, and Paula ended up loading up three boxes of MLP titles into her car--all the leftover MLP titles from the ACFW conference book table. She's going to be traveling around the country for her own work, and has felt led to drop in on bookstores, libraries, and churches to promote MLP along the way. We're talking about printing up bookmarks and magnets and such. If there's anything in book publishing that I'm terrible at, it's marketing. So to have someone so excited and motivated is a real boost to me. Paula is dependent on the Lord for her instructions. She has asked that we all pray not only for God's blessing on MLP but for His guidance of and control over any marketing efforts she or any of the rest of us does now and in the future. Another MLP item of prayer: the upcoming Marcher Lord Select project. We need to get the word out about that. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement, and for just being exactly the kind of people I love hanging out with. Jeff

Wow, Jeff! God's really got some excitement going here. I know I am. Heck, I'm honored that God put me where I am with TC2, but to be where you are, in the center of it all, must be mindblowing!
Congratulations, Jeff, on the amazing success you've helped make God's plan to be. I can't wait to see where He is going with all this, how it will tie in, and the amazing personal growth possible here.
God bless you!
