Yeah, those passes are pretty awesome, two free tickets every two weeks with the pay check and we usually show all the big movies nice and early so I don't use the passes. Good thing is they never expire lol, can see movies for the free the rest of my life at this rate.

This being the first story relating to Star Trek that I've seen (space scares me), my comments are pretty subjective.
I thought the villain had a great story, about which we learned almost nothing. When the plot turns on what the villain is up to (which this one did), he better get time to explain himself and make the audience care. A hologram and thirty seconds of dialogue just doesn't cut it.
Other than that it was fine. It struck me as a movie made largely for the fans. If I were one, I would have caught the detailed nuances of the characters. To unpack their depth in the allotted time would be impossible. Abrams did a fine job with what he had, I just wish there could have been more development and exposition. This is usually the case with me and epic movies.
