Thanks to the encouragement from some folks at PYP and here at the Anomaly, I went ahead and released Redline on Kindle. ow.ly/nvHFq Writing science fiction while living in a farming community that's been around for a hundred years or so has always been a tricky proposition. So when I wanted to write something to pay homage to our pioneer ancestors, Mars became a natural choice. After all, it looks a whole lot like West Texas! Wide open spaces and mournful train whistles got me to thinking who the real colonists on Mars would be--not scientists, but people with families trying to build a new life for themselves. And while Redline doesn't start with the first ships, but three generations later, the planet is still raw and wild enough for adventure. Throw in some shady environmentalists from Earth who are trying to stop the maglev expansion, along with a very irritating and nosy reporter, and the hero has his hands full. I'd also like to mention I now have a blog site up: cjparsons.wordpress.com/ and would like to invite everyone to drop by.

Congrats, tris!
Redline is an uber-cool story: SF Wild West, mystery, adventure, political maneuvering, and romance on Mars. It takes place after initial terraforming to provide enough atmosphere to support life, but there are still plenty of challenges. Suitable for crossover and mainstream readers, too -- the Christian content is subtle, only visible through the characters' application rather than any blatant evangelizing. A fun & absorbing read!
Good job on the blog, too!
Well done, amiga!!! ;D

T'was a pleasure, Tris!
Your blog looks like it's off to a good start, too, in spite of the headaches it's giving you. Onward and upward. ;D
