Hi all,
Here's what's currently on my plate.
Finishing Winter Emergence both at the insistence of my publisher and readers.
Pitched a partially finished novel to Maggie Bonham, Sky Warrior Books, at MileHiCon. She wants it when it is completed because she loves the idea. This is a huge step considering normally publishers want the work done before they'll even consider it. My advantage here is that she knows I'm a good writer and that I will complete the book.
Submissions closed for Different Dragons 2 and Supernatural Colorado. (Although I may be reaching out to specific writers on the latter if I don't have enough stories.) I also have a backup publisher for SC in the event it doesn't work out with the house who said they were interested.
My first romance Worth the Wait has been submitted. Am waiting to hear back on it.
God's Gift will be released by WolfSinger Publications later this year or early next year.
My story Lil was published in the ezine Lorelei Signal. Originally I had submitted it to Lee Martindale for an anthology. Although she didn't accept it, she did tell me it was a good story. I've submitted it to various markets ever since and finally, it got accepted.
At ComicCon this year, my publisher sold ten copies of Winter Awakening and another eight that I edited. This was Different Dragons and Time Traveling Coffers. I don't know for certain how many were sold during MileHiCon but I did sell three of WA after my reading on Sunday. AND I DIDN'T EVEN READ FROM IT! I read from Winter Emergence and God's Gift.
Ian Tregillis who was one of the guests at MHC complimented me on a good reading. I hadn't even realized he was in the audience!
My WolfSinger publisher did tell me she's expecting me to move on to larger houses. Sort of caught me by surprise. While I'm planning on it, I guess I didn't actually think I was good enough. Nice when others place that kind of confidence in you.
Just a FYI, half the writers in Time Traveling Coffers are Christians and about a third in Different Dragons. When I'm editing I do tend to court local talent and the Anomaly.
On that note, are there any themes any of you would like so see or write on for future anthologies?
