Hello,
I announced the arrival of Benjamin Daniel Luke recently. We took him to Des Moines this morning to have his feet looked at. The diagnosis was club feet and he was immediately wrapped in plaster casts to begin the straightening process. The doctor said he will be changing the casts every week for 7 weeks, then Ben will require braces for a year all the time and braces at night until kindergarten.
The doctor expects a full recovery, but Ben does not understand why his feet are being squeezed and pulled by the casts. This usually happy little boy has been crying most of the time that he's been awake (unless distracted by a bottle). Please pray for our son's comfort.

I should add that Mom and Dad are having a rough time with this, too. Ben seems to be okay with the casts for now.

Believe me, it is definitely tougher on parents than on the child! You are all remembered in my prayers.

I'll second what Teskas said. My son was hospitalized with pneumonia when he was little, and screamed bloody murder when they stuck him with needles and stuff. Now, he has no memory of it. But I sure do!
I'll be praying for your family.
