This world has multiple cultures, but three that are dominant/most important. These three cultures are:
The Taidh who call the world op-Taidh
The Apsimasi who call the world Namumosi
The Beruan who call the world Paporger
Each of these three cultures have some sort of dominant influence in different parts of this world.
The largest, however, are the Apsimasi. They are somewhat comparable to a Mayan society, very sophisticated but on the savage side as well. They build large and sophisticated structures and have a very well-laid-out government, headed by a soverign. They dwell, however, in the arctic regions of the planet. Because of the tough tundra of their society, they are forced to be a very fierce, fighting people, conquering much of the world immediatley around them to fend for resources. Their gods are decidedly more savage than they are.
The Beruan are the other super-power of the world. They are very intelligent, a more reasoning and logical culture. They are ruled by a council-democracy and desire peace and diplomacy more than war. They appreciate arts and culture, and structure their cities and architecture with beauty and form more importantly than cold efficiency of structure. They live in a temperate resource-rich area of the planet, and their cities are much covered in the coveted Imira stone, a mother-of-pearl tough crystal.
The Beruan's cities are built circularly, each radiating out from a central hub, in which the governor or precept of the city's palace is located. The ruling council is made up of these collected city governors. Because of their bent on learning and art (and subsequent lesser need for base survival) the Beruans are the most technologically advance race on the planet. They are in-touch with magic, but use it mostly for the powering of their various devices and technologies.
The Taidh are more of a dark-ages society. They live in the plains and some of the tribes are migrant, but some have fought their way to gain and conquer ground where they have built strongholds. They are ruled by a series of princes, each controlling their own separate tribes or kingdoms. Almost every family has it's own sub-kingdom/tribe, and the battles and fueds between them are endless. There is no uniting king over the Taidh--some long for a uniting king, others kill men for mentioning the idea.
The Taidh are rich in history, which is mostly lyrical and in song. Of all the cultures on the world, the Taidh are the most in-touch with magic, but they are also the most afraid of it. They are endlessly supersticious, and pattern their gods after different animals and talismans of legends.
The Taidh are a hawk-culture: they have tamed the giant hawks and ride their backs in the air into fantastic air-battles while their infantry fights below.
--Of these three cultures, the Taidh and the Beruans are the most in contact with eachother, although there is also some trade with the Apsimasi.
Open to any and all suggestions!
