Hey! to all of you creative writers out there from someone with zero creative ability. I love to read speculative fiction, and I’m so glad there are so many talented people to write it, and people like Jeff to promote and publish it. I found the MLP and WhereTheMapEnds websites recently, just in time to read and vote for the Phase 1 entries. It’s so exciting to find such a diverse group of entries. Congrats to all of those selected to go on to Phase 2, and to those that weren’t. I thought there were some great stories that were not selected and hope to see more of them in the future.
Well, I said that I’m not creative, so what do I do? My background is in computer science and bookkeeping. I was a software developer for about 15 years and volunteer treasurer at our church for over 6 years. Now I’m a freelance copyeditor/proofreader. I’ve done some technical editing -- boring -- so, I've combined my skills with my love of speculative fiction. I would much rather work on something that I enjoy reading.
Anyway, thanks again to Jeff and the writers for all of the great speculative fiction! I've got to get back to reading the Phase 2 entries.

Welcome, Dawn! Sorry to be slow on my "hello." The meets and greets tend to get away from me as I juggle life. But glad you're here to enjoy the fun.

Welcome Hawkeye. We can always use a code slicer in these parts. Some of us are technologically challenged and we need a hawkeye to spot the comp sci errors in our writing. Hail and well met!

Thanks for all of the Welcomes. Sorry that I've been gone for sooo long, Thanksgiving came early and so did the cold season and back problems, etc. I also got sidetracked looking at the new BeyondTheCharts website. How easily I get distracted. I am definitely interested in doing some copyediting/proofreading. If any of you writers are in need, just let me know.

Hey, Hawkeye...Dawn Shelton...sounds familiar...have you ever been on ShoutLife by any chance?
OTOH, could be a code glitch on my part. Either way, welcome, cool to have you, and don't let Christian Soldier scam you into doing his yardwork while he's off in a space shuttle somewhere.
Regards,
~Cat
