Hello all! I'm a 50s something geek who has been selling non-fiction articles to computer magazines for years. I've also been trying to sell Christian speculative fiction stories for a number of years. I had a near miss in the late 90s with a comic book series that did get a phone call from one publisher and a very encouraging letter from another editor.
Then the bottom fell out of my life and I went through a long, long creative dry spell. It was as if I had lost my writer's inner voice and I could not plot worth a hoot.
I'm a former widower who recently remarried. My wife is an avid reader and we have stacks of books from our favorite library. For the longest time I read only non-fiction inspirational material. My wife encouraged me to start reading fiction again and I picked up some Clive Cussler novels and about 20 novels later I said to myself, "I think I could write something like this!" So I did! I've completed one Christian speculative novel and I just finished chapter two of my second. Yay!
I've never stopped writing. I'm a journalism school grad turned geek, so I was a natural thing for me to start writing non-fiction to help pay bills. I've made regular sales since then.
However, fiction is a whole different kind of critter and I've found breaking into the market to be an incredibly difficult nut to crack.
So I'm here to learn and get my novels sold. Life is short and I don't want to leave these manuscripts on the shelf.
I love Jesus big time. He is the center of my life and I would not be warm and vertical today were it not for His steadfast and loving presence.
So, thanks for being here!
