How many words should it be? I have thought that my YA is a little short at 65,000, is this just me, or is it too small?

When you're aiming at the YA market, checking to see what various publishers look for in word counts would give you an average length to work with. I think YA are more willing to look at a 65,000 than at a 100,000 word novel. To an adult, 65,000 won't feel much longer than a novella; but to a YA, that may be entirely acceptable and enjoyable.
