I know Marcher Lord Press is publishing Christian speculative fiction novels, but who is out there paying (even a little bit) for sort stories of medium (3,000-5,000 words or so) length?
I've got some stories from the "dark years" when Analog or F&SF were the only games in town, and they wouldn't give Christian SF the time of day.
Thanks!

Hmmm. I looked through this year's Christian Writer's Market, and they list a half dozen paying markets for sci-fi, but must of them look to be secular. For example, Tickled By Thunder magazine says they accept "religious" fiction but "it must stand on it's own, not use its genre as a crutch." Uh...to me, that doesn't exactly sound like a welcoming sort of policy. Other paid markets listed are Associated Content, Eureka Street, Gem, Glad Tidings, JC Town Reporter, MindFlights, Rose and Thorn, Storyteller and Written. I didn't have a chance to vet all of these listings, so I don't know what you'll find if you google, but I like to hope they're reasonable and legit, since Sally Stuart included them. Good luck on your hunt, and I hope this helps a little.

Pete! There is a brand new e-zine out now called "The Cross and the Cosmos". Myself and my partner started it back in October and we have two issues under our belt and working on a third due in April. We'd love to take a looke at your stories and see if they fit. Check out the site at www.crossandcosmos.com or send me an e-mail. Glyn aka CS
