Hi, All! Wanted to share my brand new blog experiment with the Anomaly clan... The theme revolves around what various aspects of psychology have to offer fiction writers. I'll be digging into topics like creativity, motivation to achieve goals, personality, common errors in explaining human behavior (our own and others)...a wide variety of issues. I hope you'll stop by and give it a look. It's a work in progress and I'm in the midst of a very steep learning curve when it comes to creating blogs, so any feedback/suggestions you may have about the format, bells & whistles, comment policies, etc will be seriously considered and seriously appreciated... www.tiptoeingontheedge.blogspot.comAlan O

Looks like you have some fascinating material to pull from, Alan. I'm always amazed at how complex human beings are compared to the rest of God's creation! Now, the trick is to translate just a sliver of that complexity into our "story people," as Jeff would call them.

Ooh I'll have to show that to my friend Jessica. She's a psych major and also a writer.
Sounds interesting though. I have a book for writers on character traits that is based heavily on psychology. It's rather over my head though.

Thanks, all....
Waldenwriter, very appreciative of you "passing it on" to your psych friend, but my goal is to "demystify" some of these concepts and put things into terms that any writer can use. Hoping to be very "user-friendly"!

I've been looking for place to discuss my interest in writing fiction which explores psychological themes and I hope this is a suitable site. As mature student/graduate followed by over 20 years as a researcher in the same leading British university I became very interested in the role of the unconscious in everyday life so on retirement I wrote The brain and I-a modern romance with a psychological twist-a tale of love, hate and revenge with Jacky and her brain which has a life and a voice of its own and different views to Jacky on her men and what to do. It is published as a Amazon e-book search under 'Liz Brown' I am currently writing with a less obvious psychological input.
