Hi all,
This time last year I was praying for a job, and God answered that prayer. What I need now is less stress from work.
When I came on board, I knew that the main programming language used at the company was one I had minimal experience with. I have worked hard to learn it. I can handle the language itself fairly well. However, there are a lot of add-on packages we use. There are 150ish websites that we've taken care of over the years with ever evolving best practices.
We have two small boys at home (2.5 and 9 months). When I'm not working on work, I'm doing stuff for the church or a nonfiction place that gives me assignments every few months. I'm falling behind in my share of the housework and sometimes I just want to do nothing for a day (Good Friday was great. No outside work. I don't even think I turned on the computer until evening).
I'm stressing about things, and I know I shouldn't.
The good news is the bosses like me. They understand the learning curve of the place and have training procedures in place. And I'm getting to use what I've learned there on a project I'm excited about and hope to share publicly soon.
Enough from me. Thank you for your prayers.

Maybe you need to learn to say "no" to some of those things outside of work and home. And yes I mean church stuff too.

Thank you, everyone. Some prayer was just what the Lord ordered. I feel much better today.

Glad to hear things are looking up, Frank. I can sympathize with the way lots of good things in life can pull us in many directions. May the Lord bless you with discernment in how to use your time so that all your obligations get your best.
