Hello Anomalians!
In an effort to keep things orderly around here, we've decided to try out a little sub-board in the "bios, blog..." board. The purpose of this particular board is to give a specialized place where you can share what you are up to. Stuff like this is scattered over several boards right now, so we're trying to make it a little more obvious where to put stuff like...
Running a web community? Throw a link on here. Managing a site that would appeal to your fellow fiction pioneers? Tell us about it. So excited you could pop about a publishing success? Let us cheer with you.
So, if you've got a link that says "You've gotta take a look at this!" this is the place.
Looking forward to seeing what people are up to.

Good idea, kind of like a trophy wall for Anomaliens.
I just wish it were easier to find.

Me too, Dave...any suggestions on visibility for this sub forum? I don't know what it is...you'd think being at the very top and all, it would be noticeable, but for me, it seems just the opposite.

I have a website where I write reviews of secular and christian fiction, interview authors, opinion stories, essays, and review video games. The link is fantasydreamer12.wordpress.com/

Gotta show ya...My novel, The Calling of Mike Malone, was picked up by MuseItUp Press and they sent a copy of what will become the cover. Even if this picture had nothing to do with my book, I think it's so cool, I would buy it as a poster or something! Take a look! Mike Malone comes out first as an e-book this August. Attachments:

My first book is currently being printed! Let's see if I can make a good picture here.... That's the front. Lulu standard layout. The first shipment should be on its way in 3-5 days, and after they arrive, I'll be selling them to friends and family! Sure, it's the stereotypical self-publishing thing to do, but I've got some ways to start expanding. Slow and easy. Keep blogging, work with my dad on marketing, other stuff. Anyway, I'm PUBLISHED!

Conga-rat-ululations.... How long has that been going? More than the four or five months I've seen it?

You guys are so cool! The Malone cover is outstanding--definitely poster material. It's great we have two publications here. Choosybeggar and Miloark are too modest. Glad this thread materialized.

Becky,
I think you're on to something. We need to get the word out to as many as possible. I think there should be a board for Post-Marcher Lord Select as many of the entries have made it to print since the contest.
As a matter of fact, I'll post an update on my MLS entry right now - see below!

Jan. 30, 2012, my novel, The Serpent's Grasp, came out through OakTara Publishers. The paperback is out on most online venues with more to come as they get around to loading info. The Kindle version will be out in early March as well as the Nook Book! There is even a good word from the Marcher Lord himself amongst the endorsements! Here is the BCC: Something ominous lurks under the waters…
Dr. Evelyn Sims, a brilliant marine biologist, is being watched. Her husband’s mysterious death at sea—with the only survivor of the Greenback telling a shocking, unbelievable tale—has thrown her personal life into chaos. Her scientific views are being scrutinized. Her husband’s office and their home are investigated. Called in by the FBI to help solve the mystery, Evelyn is thrust into her toughest research project ever…and forced into a maze of deception and betrayal.
Micah Gregson, the Coast Guard captain who rescued the Greenback, is determined to find out why a special unit at the FBI—the one assigned to cryptozoological cases—is involved.
Together Evelyn and Micah will uncover a plot more deadly than anything the ocean could ever produce. One that will either save Evelyn’s life and redeem her career, or destroy everything she—and myriad others—stand for.My website is www.ckevinthompson.com. There is a page link to my blog as well as a page link to a sneak peek at the first 39 pages of The Serpent's Grasp for you to peruse. I also keep readers "In the News" with articles I run across and others send to me which relate to the science behind The Serpent's Grasp. If you would be so kind, "like" my fan page on FB @ apps.facebook.com/iwipage/348904475132041?pid=1, and may God bless all our endeavors at bringing the truth of God's Word to the masses in our varied ways and genres! And congrats to miloark and choosybeggar! Miloark, you are another MLS entry gone to print. Not sure if that contest materialized like Jeff envisioned, but it sure opened doors, didn't it?

Great news, Kevin! Good to hear that OakTara picked up your work, and I hope that your release has been very strong here in the first few weeks.

Last I counted, I think we're up to 9 or 10 of the titles from Marcher Lord Select (either the premise contest or the main contest) now published or under contract, so I think it's absolutely true that the contest generated visibility for people's books. I know it made some difference with mine.
