Not a current soldier that is old, but one that used to be mine. If that makes any sense. Anyhoo, Joshua is now the second wican I have ever met who renounced his faith and is returning to Christianity. That said, he's going to need a lot of prayer to get him through the tranformation that salvation brings on.
That stated, here's the facts behind it. It was the final service before our chaplain was due to leave, and Josh got talked into going. During the entire service, he felt, well, something stirring. It wasn't guilt per se, but there was definitely something trying to get his attention. It scared him enough that after the service he gave the chaplain his pendant, saying that he didn't want anything to do with it anymore.
I am so proud of him for taking that step. Most, who have taken the wican path, do not turn back. He is the second that I have ever known, both involved chaplains, as well.
Please pray for him, especially since he is being kicked out of the Army and may return to his old habits. I pray not.

Wow. I've dealt with a number of folks who started Christian and went Wiccan, but none of them made it back... yet. I'm still hopin' and prayin' for them.

Praying for this (previous) comrade in arms, CS. I'm sorry to hear of his troubles that seem to be ending his career as a soldier, and I pray that the Lord will use both that and the "stirrings" he had in the church service to lay the foundation for a new, vibrant faith.

In both of the Wican returns I have witnessed, the person in question wasn't all that devoted to Wica in the first place. In Josh's case, I thought he was Christian for a while, now I know why. I don't think he ever truly converted to Wica, not in his heart of hearts. It explains why I ID'd him as a brother. He was... he just didn't know it yet.

Praying for him. I had a hard core Witch turn to Christ and find deliverance in my circle of friends so it's possible with our Lord.

One of my dearest friends in all the world was a true witch before she became a Christian. No one is beyond the power of Christ.

A buddy of mine is an Air Force chaplain. He had a wiccan walk into his office one day and say, "Chap, something ain't right in me. Can we talk?"
