What would a story be like if the MC (who is a born-again believer) traveled to a parallel world where she is not and then meets "herself"? I can see all kinds of conflict and maybe even some theological issues coming up with this. Maybe they fight. Maybe SHE witnesses to her. Maybe it's all an illusion, a gift from God to show someone what her life would have been like without Him (kind of like "It's A Wonderful Life", sort of).
This may end up being just a thought exercise, but I found it a cool idea. What would your life be like today if you didn't believe in Jesus? Aslan tells us it's not for us to know what would have been, only what is. I, of course, can't be certain, but I think I'd be dead if I didn't know Jesus; He's saved me from so much!!
Would this work as a piece of fiction? Please, share your thoughts...

This is a concept that's come up several times in my life. Specifically with people who have come from an unchurched background. I think it's fascinating and has a lot of scope. I also think it would be hard to write and easy to fall into cliches. Would [ME] be drawn to me? Would it be hate at first sight? Some identical twins in the world have these intense love/hate relationships where they can't stand each other, but neither can they be apart. Where would that sort of response fit in? Plus, there is the whole concept of having *only one* alternate universe. (If you're going to have one, why not several...?) I like the idea, though I do think it would be a tough write.

That sounds like a great basis for a psychological thriller.
First, it is a true saying that we usually can't see ourselves as we are. That's one reason why an accountability partner or a faithful spouse is so needful to be "real" as a Christian or anything else that matters.
Thus, if we met ourselves as another person would we be able to see ourselves more clearly? That would be a great plot question to base a story around.
Second, since we all exist in the mind of God as a discrete soul can two "Me's" actually exist at the same space time locus? Is that what happens when we go through a fundamental change like repentance, or marriage?
Seems like a fertile field

I think if the concept is strong enough and woven with a powerful theme while avoiding the clichés, there is some meat there that can be stewed and savoured.

Bibles that are falling apart usually belong to someone who isn't.
