Just wanted to ask all you prayer warriors to join in praying for the victims of the tornados that hit all over the midwest this past few days, particularly those in Minneapolis, Reading, and Joplin. The devastation has been tremendous and there'll be a long recovery. Also prayers for those who lost friends and family. As of this writing, the death toll in Joplin alone is 89 confirmed dead. Rain and thunderstorms are hampering S&R there, with more on the way. Joplin is not far from where many of my own family lives. Thank you, Lord, for keeping them safe.

Much of my family lives near Joplin too--some of my friends & family were helping with S&R and medical stuff. Thanking God they're OK and praying for everyone affected.

Definitely. We've been praying in our congregation all spring about these disasters. Sadly, we will be adding to our prayer list this coming Sunday.

Yikes. I knew they got hammered but I didn't realized how badly.

The most recent death toll is 116 and rescue teams are still trying to dig through rubble, even with continuing rain and thunderstorms. I've heard it's the deadliest tornado Missouri's had since the late 1800's. Very sad.
