Greetings and welcome to the part of the forum where you can create characters for our fantasy world.
There are a number of items you need to be sure to include for every new character you post here.
You don't need to go on and on, but you do need to be able to give a good snapshot of who this person (or "being") is.
I have developed a character creation system called "Character Creation for the Plot-First Novelist" (www.wherethemapends.com/products/products.htm), which is available if you'd like some help developing rich characters.
The final step in that system is to synthesize everything about your new character and bring him/her/it onstage in a way that typifies the character and illustrates the character's essential qualties and manner of speech.
The final stage in creating a character for our story is to bring this person onstage. Keep it fairly short (500 words max) but do it in a way that captures this character so well that someone else could take him/her/it and put him/her/it into his or her own story.
One request: let's please stay away from species and character roles created by Tolkien, George Lucas, D&D, or any other well-known source. No elves, dwarves, ents, or rangers, and no Jedi, Sith, CloneTroops--or face-hugging, chest-bursting aliens. Let's be original.
Have fun!
Jeff

- A physical description of your character (including age, gender, race, species, hair color, etc.)
- A description of your character's personality
- This character's goals and fears
- The lesson this character needs to learn (character arc; inner journey information) (See Tip #3 at www.wherethemapends.com/writerstools/writers_tools_pages/tip_of_the_week--01-10.htm.)
- Bring the character onstage in a way that perfectly captures him/her/it, including manner of speech (see below).
