I have a little art and writing blog here at netraptor.org/blog . It's had some recent updates, and since everybody else is advertising their blogs, I figured I'd advertise mine, too. :-)

Looking for someone to do the cover of my next book, so just checked it out. A little biased, perhaps, because of the dinosaurs and dragons (I'm the crazy guy who hunts for living dinosaurs in Africa), but I love your art. You should ask Jeff to include you in his "Fantastic Visions" page. Might stir up a little business.

Yeah, so I clicked through the link and read your art blog. All of it.

Cool stuff! I wish I could draw that good draw that good on the computer draw on the computer at all! I don't know how my abilities would stack up altogether, but I certainly don't know how to draw with a program. You've got techno skillz. Plus raptors and griffins and gryphons and griffons are just awesome! Sonic, too, though fanfic is illegal .

Keep up the good work! I would be proud to have done what you have with your artistic calling.

Thanks for the suggestion! I can't take any commissions right now because of the smallness of my latest baby (she only just dinged 7 months), but once she breaks a year I'll be open again. I have to not have people in my lap in order to do anything more than sketch.

Dang, you read ALL of it? I suppose I only do have about two years worth on there. And yes, I know fanfic is illegal, but Sega doesn't seem to care much. After all, a rabid fanbase is a fanbase that buys games. I just can't sell any fanfics. That's what fanfiction.net is for. :-)

Right! I've never been on that site but I can guess from the name it IS for that.

Oh, and you inspired me to draw. I was up at four in the morning looking at myself in the mirror and trying to turn what I saw into a more feminine model. I did pretty good, but had to leave the finishing touches (to the simple lines sketch) until I had a good picture to draw from.

Suddenly I feel empowered to create more art. And your blog helped that come about! Great things are on the move here.

Good! I'm glad you're inspired to create now!

I saw a demonstration once that you can take a perfectly generic human face, and high contrast in the eyes and lips looks female, and lower contrast looks male.

Also, if you want the most fantastic art blog EVER, try James Gurney: gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/

He wrote/illustrated the Dinotopia books. If you are not familiar with them, get familiar. The stories aren't so spectacular, but the art is absolutely wonderful. (I'm partial to the second book, with the robots and the guys riding on the giganotosaurus. Win and awesome!)

You ever heard of Lewis Lavoie? He's kind of a creationist James Gurney.

I found his site. Very nice art! Doesn't look like his books are out yet, though. I imagine drawing humans and dinosaurs together as a creationist makes him pretty controversial.

I noticed on your blogsite you're also a Sonic fan. I tried following the link to the fanfic site, but the connection timed out. Is it an exclusive club? I love Sonic the Hedgehog. I think my son has all the comics and games ever invented.

Tris: The fanfic link should work, because it's on the same server as the blog. It's not really an exclusive club, although imposing a G-PG rating on it does make it somewhat exclusive, heh. You can read all of my fanfics on there and see how I broke every single one of Jeff's rules, over and over. :-D

Except I don't think Jeff despises self-inserts the way the fanfic community does. I broke that one, too, until I grew out of it, about ten stories in.

Got in this time. Guess the gremlins were messing with my computer again. I try not to feed them, but they keep multiplying.

Nice to have a fellow Sonic fan around. Don't worry about the ratings -- it's about True Blue and he doesn't do dark ratings. So what's your author name so I can find you out of all the others?

I'm NetRaptor, of course. You can find me under Top Tens > Longest Series. You can read my embarrassingly unedited works. About the best thing I can say for them is Sonic was always my favorite, so he's always the hero, over all the fan characters I jammed in there.
