Cranberry oatmeal cookies, as in "Homemade Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies"? ;D If I wasn't on a diet I'd volunteer to take the next tribute package to them. Hey! Wait a minute! We won the last war; how come we're sending them tribute. Did somebody from the state department or congress negotiate that treaty? Gnomes! It's always about the gnomes! If I run for president I know what I'll use for a campaign slogan "IT'S THE GNOMES, STUPID!" <mutter, mutter> (Never should have let Tinkerbell sprinkle that fairy dust on the garden. But, noooo...something interesting might happen... where's your sense of adventure .... we're Sf writers, we can contain the damages. Yeah right! It turns out they breed like rabbits and the next thing we know they escaped and went to work for the IRS. Don't say I didn't try to warn you. The only good gnome is a petrified one!) Tell ya what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna keep my Kill-O-Zap death ray right next to my garden hoe from now on, just in case. (Gnomes.... brrrr) SGD dave PS. Oh, and did anyone warn you that we can get a bit weird around here sometimes. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>crunch<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Ouch!! Over there.... that Gnome bit me. He's getting away with the cranberry oatmeal cookie plate! Stop! You thieving stone block head .....

Man, last time I was abducted, I thought the aliens looked a little weird. I guess I'm too new around here to recognize the danger.

Oh, so THOSE are the gnomes? I thought they were fairies. Like, with no wings and little hard heads. They've been eating the flowers in my garden and I just let them be, because I thought that's what fairies did.

Welcome, Michael! Sorry for the tardy reply, but I like the high fantasy concept and your cover art is super swell! Yeah, gnomes. Trust em as far as you can throw em. One day a hero shall rise from the Anomaly to rid these lands of their heavy handed scourge. Just not me, I've got a long commute home.
