I was reading "And So it Begins . . ." thread and Cdeb mentioned being tapped to write the yearly Christmas Letter.
It gave me an idea.
How about submitting here a Christmas Letter as if it were written by one of our own characters?

Merry Christmas, all! James Carda here. Just giving everybody an update on the household this year.
Remember how Mom and Dad were overseas last Christmas, working on their archeological sites in Israel? They came home in March to receive an award for Distinguished Service from our local museum, who helps sponsor their work.
Michelle and I turned 24 this year. Michelle is still working on her nursing certification, but I bombed out of my Archeology degree. I got a top-secret job instead, and it's full-time.
In June I won my three big races of the year, then I invested in a new car. It's the latest model Mazda MX and it has a sweet amount of horsepower. I lost my old car in that big storm that destroyed the southwestern US. I officially had nothing to do with that storm, by the way.
In September, Michelle went on tour with her dance group. When they came home, they offered her a full-time position at the dance studio, which did NOT go over well with Mom and Dad. But they were off to Iraq to look for Noah's Ark, and they couldn't make Michelle go back to school.
In November the US government opened their first portal to Tyrona, with the Council's blessing. I may or may not have built the portal.
And here we are, all spending Christmas at home in Phoenix. Mom and Dad want to take Michelle back to the Middle East with them in January, mostly because they don't want to leave her here with her boyfriend. For the record, her boyfriend is a good guy. And for the record, he's not a werewolf. Just wanted to lay that rumor to rest.
Merry Christmas from all the Cardas! May next year be even better than this year."

I like it! I'm also impressed at how quickly you wrote it. Good job.
