I have spent a lot of time working on a website/blog at wordpress.com. has anyone else tried this? what sort of success have you had?
it is completely free with the option for upgrades which cost money. the only thing i paid for was the domain name...and something else for like $5 i think it was. the domain was $12 i think per year. all in all it was way cheaper and way easier than i thought it would be to throw together.

let me know your experience if you have done something similar. also, if you have any ideas for content i would love to hear it. there were some themes that allowed video to run. i had no idea this was determined by a theme until i started messing around with it. but it is pretty simple.
im not a computer guy at all, but this website >http://www.w3schools.com/html/< has really helped sort out some of the html to make the site look a little smoother. i definitely recommend checking it out if you no nothing and have no resources like me.

Very nice! I have a wordpress blog at netraptor.org/blog . I'm just running off one of the default themes with my own art as the banners.
I notice you have navigation buttons along the top, and category buttons lower down, under your header. You might want to mess with your layout/theme until you get that looking right. I mean, I'm not interested in clicking on "Uncategorized", you know? :-)
Aside from that, it looks like a fun little site. It's good to have somewhere to post about your creativity.

Hey Jacoblindamen, my website is a wordpress template with my husband's handiwork set up so that I can update the content myself kind of what you're doing. Although I still got to work on the font. I also have a separate wordpress blog linked to my website. I've debated whether or not I wanted to just include the blog on the main page of the website or not, but for now I like having it separate. So far I love my website and I'm just getting my feet wet in blogging on a regular basis.
Some thoughts on your blog. first, it looks pretty cool. kind of busy. is that your artwork in the background?
I couldn't find an about me page. even if you wanted to remain anonymous you could put up an explanation about the blog, its purpose, mission, vision, etc Of course, you kind of cover that in the first post, but as you post more that will be moved to the archives.
Also, I had a hard time reading some of the words with the light reflecting of the guy's shield.
other than that...congrats on your website!

j2starshine-the background is a work in progress. i will keep updating it until it fits what i like. i don't really care for the blog layout which was all that i could find for themes. i didn't even know what a theme was until i started dinking around setting up the site. so, all that could change. but i will probably not have an about me page...now. Kessie-i know i have checked out your site in the passed, but when i checked the other day it wanted me to log in. as far as the uncatagorized thing goes i need to mess around some more to adjust that.

Hey JBM;
I set up a wordpress blog several years ago.
I'm an experienced html programmer, I maintained several websites for a number of years with hand coded html; but I found that WP's built in templates were quite good.
They've changed their operating interface some since I was a really active user but the key is to learn how to use the user dashboard. I found that after the initial set up it was quite easy to add content.
Best of Providence Bro.
