Hey guys!
I've been considering on adding some information to my blog and pinterest boards about the project I'm about to embark on. for pinterest I'd like to collect images that inspire me for that story, the characters, the geography, buildings, etc... But how much information is too much? Do we risk losing our story to others? I know ideas aren't sacred and can be borrowed and twisted into our own creation, respectfully borrowed if you may...but are there draw backs? Do publishers/agents/editors frown on this? What are your thoughts? Experience?
thanks!

J2star;
Not sure what pinterest is.
I'd hesitate to post too much specific on public (searchable) blogs / forums about a new book project. That's the reason why I created the Anomalous Sandbox, so we'd have a secure place where we could post specifics, prose sketches and other development stuff on Works In Progress for feedback and crit without danger of intellectual piracy.
There is a "Photos" section in the sandbox (see the online sidebar) where you could set up a folio with the pics, and as you know the Sandboxers are good for feedback on ideas and trial prose. The Sandbox is set up so that it cannot be accessed with a Yahoo or Google search (or any other search engine) so your concepts and ideas are about as secure from piracy as they can be online.
Given the complexity of new project development material it's unlikely that anyone could successfully pirate your ideas and even if they did only you can write "your" book. However, IMHO safe is better than sorry; 'tis better to keep to secure sites than wish that you had.
My own paranoia drove me to set up the Sandbox, use it, that's why it's there.
Write on Sis.
