What if all the reported sightings of extraterrestrials were genuine, just not what we would expect?
I'm inspired by the consistency from one description to another: disproportionately large heads; small, wrinkled and/or goopy bodies; large, vacuous eyes; etc. I recently read a similar description in a book that my wife has on prenatal development (we're expecting again!). Her sonogram even returned an image that the technician referred to as "alien face."
ETs are not aliens from other planets; rather, they are visual projections of society's collective guilt over aborting so many babies. The reason for the relatively recent appearance of such visions is the increase and legality of abortion in the most prosperous nation on the planet. I chose to put this in the Demons...Last Days forum because maybe the visions are the result of an Accuser of the Brethren not only stealing, killing, and destroying babies, but also gloating (through the visions) of his efforts.
I haven't really developed this idea. In fact, even now I'm thinking, "Well, what then are UFOs?" What do you think?

A friend once told me that if doctors apply a certain amount of voltage to a certain area of the brain, the person will see aliens, big head, big eyes and tiny mouth.
Also, if you go back hundreds of years and compare stories of fairies stealing people to alien abductions, they're frighteningly similar. Old-style Fae even look the same, big head, bug eyes, little nose and mouth. Antennae, even.
What's really interesting is how aliens keep changing their stories. A researcher somewhere compiled all the alien abduction stories he could find from the 50s onward. They used to claim they were from Mars, because humanity didn't know much about Mars. Now we know there's nobody on Mars. Now aliens claim they're from a star system near Vega, or some other far away place we don't know much about. Interesting that they're consistently lying. Just like demons do.
I think demons have always posed as fairies or aliens to people open to that sort of thing. Whatever will deceive, you know?

Hey, I love talking about alien stuff. My great-grandpa was one of those atheists who believed that when you die, the aliens come for you. We invited him to a weekly Bible reading at our house, where we discussed aliens and demons and answered all of his questions and just had fun. He accepted Jesus right before he died. Alas, I haven't had a good discussion about aliens since then.
