Ok, it's been a year since I was laid off, and I have yet to find another job. At first I thought this time was a great opportunity to work on my book while I look for work, but I didn't think it'd take this long. My writers block hasn't helped. Please pray that the Lord opens a door. Also pray that I can get refocussed on my book.
Thanks!
Will

Will pray. I went 4 months without a job once. I can't imagine a full year.

Hey Will,
I'll definitely keep you in prayer. I've been out of work for about the same length of time as Fluke and its not pretty. A year must be a lot worse. God has a plan though. I remember about 2 months in sitting in the car I had borrowed, crying asking God when all my problems (my car blowing out its transmission, my would be fiancee dumping me and losing my job) would get better. I told Him that I was desperate. I yanked the Bible out of the back seat and flipped it open to Psalms 113 and read this
7 He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, 8 That He may seat him with princes— With the princes of His people. 9 He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!
A couple months later, my would be fiance said he wanted to try to be friends again and see where it went (we're happily married now). Not long after that God gave me another job (It took over 200 applications and yes I did actually count).
The only reason I'm telling you this is to encourage you to not lose heart. God sees your situation and He cares for you.
Take care,
Storm

Still searching, thanks for asking. There have been a few prospects, but no biters. On an ironically funny note, I applied online for a local call center customer service position. I was rejected. They said they were going with someone a little better qualified. I think if they had actually read my resume, they'd see that I spent the last three years teaching people how to be customer service reps. Oh, well. God has something else planned for me.

Maybe "better qualified" in their mind meant less experienced and easier to underpay? *shrug* May the Lord open up the right door soon.

Well, thank you for your prayers. I am now at the Honda dealership near my house. Thanks again. God's timing is perfect.
