(Rebirths is the working title.)
Coming in May 2013 from The Cross and the Cosmos Press:
Derke is a blessed man and a prophet. But in the course of one day, everything he loves is stripped from him: his wife, his family, and his faith. Sunk in his own loss and grief, he turns to the only one who seems to have all the answers—a dark-robed sorceress who introduces him to black magic. Even as Derke loses more of his humanity and descends into evil, not all of his friends have given up on him, especially not his old friend Father Phaeus and his new friend Syantere'.
From a tranquil village in Aviterr, to deep inside Undeadwood, to a bright and shining elven city, Derke seeks meaning in the midst of loss. All the while, the world's oldest vampire desires to awaken a monstrous race that will remake the world in his own image. To ensure the world has a future, Derke and Syantere' must overcome their pasts and find their purpose.
Frank Luke, author of "Sunset Over Gunther" and many other tales, brings us three dark fantasies set in a world where God's children thrive but so do dark forces of magic and evil. This story of a man who must face his own grief and choices to find his purpose promises to be a binding tale for any who have ever had to face troubles of their own making. Derke's painful journey takes him through the darkness of death into the brightness of
Rebirths!

fluke,
I've been meaning to mention this for some time, but I grew up in Newton Iowa.

Thanks, Becky.
Resha, a pastor friend of mine took a church there about a year ago. My wife was born in Knoxville, and that's why we live there.

Resha, a pastor friend of mine took a church there about a year ago. My wife was born in Knoxville, and that's why we live there. I don't want to detract from people checking out your new publication ... but it's nice to talk about the old neighborhood. What church did your friend take? I attended St. Luke Methodist and Our Savior Lutheran while I lived there. I have fond memories of Red Rock, and my uncle used to race. So, Knoxville was always a draw for me. I had a job opportunity in Pella, but I think I'm better off where I am. Caner

Don Hayes took the Assembly of God Church. I work in Indianola but am part-time associate pastor at Harvey A/G.

Should mention that these stories take place in the same world as "Sunset Over Gunther" and "The Strong Survive." The collection starts 128 years before those two.

Confirmed the cover art designer last week. Said it sounded like a fun project and that they should have a preliminary sketch by the end of this week!
Squee!

Congratulations. What is the format, and how is it going to be published? Is it like a novella?

Kindle and paperback first. Probably format for Nook after that. Amazon and Createspace will be the initial sellers. TC2 is releasing short story collections now.
The collection is three linked stories. One novelette followed by two novellas. The three together add to 54K, so it qualifies as a novel just barely.
I got the preliminary artwork last night. Even in the initial stages and preliminary, I look at it and say, "this is a dark fantasy"! My wife looked at it and said, "That face is creepy." Perfect! I'm not sure about rights to show it, so I'm not posting it anywhere yet.
